Japanese word which means "Universal Life Force Energy" - the whole word has two meaning - REI, Means the higher intelligence that guides the creation and functioning of the universe, the wisdom that comes from God or the source, the creator, the universe.
KI is the life - force energy that flows through every living thing - plants, animals and people.
Put these words together therefore the meaning of REIKI is simplified as Universal life force energy, or god-directed life force energy.
